Description
A powerful gaze dominates this acrylic composition. Bold blue strokes collide with stark whites to create a high-contrast atmosphere. The artist employs an expressive, gestural technique. Thick applications of paint lend a tactile energy to the canvas. These fragmented shapes form two piercing eyes that seem to watch the viewer with intensity.
The aesthetic blends figurative elements with abstract spontaneity. Sharp black lines define the lashes, adding a graphic precision to the fluid background. Subtle hints of pink break the cool palette, introducing a soft, human vulnerability. This artwork reflects a deep exploration of identity and perception. It captures a fleeting moment of emotional clarity through a modern, multidisciplinary lens. The composition balances chaos and control. Every brushstroke feels intentional yet raw. The result is a haunting visual dialogue between the subject and the observer. The piece stands as a testament to the intersection of traditional painting and contemporary graphic influence, finalized in 2024.
Presentation
Born in 1986, Nino Bosikashvili is a Georgian multidisciplinary artist now based in Melbourne, Australia. She trained at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art between 2003 and 2009, earning a Bachelor's degree in Restoration of Fine Arts followed by a Master's degree in Multimedia Design — a dual background that continues to inform the technical and conceptual depth of her work. Her practice explores social and political realities, ecological themes, questions of identity, history and mythology, and human development. Since the early 2000s, her work has been shown in more than thirty exhibitions and collected by art lovers in many countries. She was recognised among the world's leading illustrators in the Australian publication Pictoria Volume 2, released by CapsulesBook. Moving between Georgia and Australia, Nino Bosikashvili has built a career spanning numerous solo and group exhibitions, artist residencies, and international collaborations, across painting, illustration and graphic design.
