Description
This abstract painting plays on a rigorous balance. The composition is divided into two distinct areas. A deep brown background occupies the majority of the space. This dark tone brings a stable and serene foundation to the whole.
A horizontal line breaks this monotony. It crosses the canvas with an irregular texture. Touches of white and ochre intertwine in it. This luminous band evokes a distant horizon or a natural fault.
The artist uses oil paint to work the material. The weave of the canvas remains visible under the pigments. The contrast between the smooth surfaces and the central worked area guides the eye. The light seems to emerge from the center of the image. It is a work on simplicity and visual tension. This vertical format accentuates the verticality of the plane.
The work was created in 202 on canvas.
