Description
This abstract composition plays on a rigorous balance of colored masses.
The eye is first captivated by a luminous ocher rectangle.
This solar area occupies the upper right part of the paper.
It contrasts with denser shadow areas.
A dark vertical block anchors the composition on the left.
A gray horizontal band crosses the center of the page.
The work in pastel and chalk creates subtle gradients.
The chromatic transitions are fluid.
They suggest a declining light, almost twilight.
The grain texture is visible under the pigments.
The rendering evokes a calm and contemplative atmosphere.
The line is precise while remaining vaporous.
It is signed and dated in the bottom right.
