Description
This oil painting on paper explores abstraction through a play of textures and contrasts. The deep black background serves as a base for a central mass of acid green. The material is applied generously. The gesture is free, almost instinctive.
Horizontal lines of rusty brown come to rhythm the composition. They cross the canvas like bars or furrows. This geometric motif disciplines the energy of the green.
The balance between the rigor of the lines and the organic aspect of the color creates a visual tension. The eye circulates between the layers of paint. The shades of green vary, ranging from lemon to a darker tone, suggesting a vegetal depth.
Realized in 195, this piece testifies to a research into superposition. It combines technical precision with spontaneous expression. The signature and the date appear discreetly in the bottom right.
