Description
This abstract composition plays on a striking thermal and visual contrast. On the left, an ochre flat evokes the warmth of earth or fire. A neutral gray beam crosses the canvas diagonally. It radically separates the space. On the right, a dark area dominates the scene. Its grainy texture recalls frost or volcanic rock.
The mixed technique combines acrylic and paper to create subtle reliefs. The work on the material brings a tactile depth to the whole. The eye moves between the softness of the warm pigment and the rigor of black. The balance rests on this tension between two opposing poles. This piece testifies to a research on the duality of elements. The signature and the date appear discreetly in the bottom left. The work was created in 2013.
