Description
An abstract exploration of movement and matter. This acrylic painting on canvas captures the essence of an aquatic landscape. The gaze travels through strata of cool colors. The deep blue dialogues with shades of water green and cream white.
The composition is organized in horizontal bands. The gesture is assured. The brushstrokes create a tangible relief. A tension is perceived between the calm of the flat surfaces and the energy of the more textured areas.
The artist plays with contrasts of luminosity to suggest depth. The light seems to filter through dense water. The whole exudes a contemplative serenity. The close framing reinforces the immersive aspect of the scene.
Realized in 1985, this piece testifies to a research on the simplification of forms. The chromatic palette remains sober and harmonious. The final rendering evokes the quiet strength of natural elements. The painting ends with a discreet signature in the lower right corner.
