Description
The gaze first meets a radical contrast. A deep black background absorbs the light and structures the space. On this dark void, geometric shapes assert themselves frankly. Ultramarine blue dominates the composition. It traces thick and irregular lines. These contours articulate into abrupt angles and organic curves.
The stroke is direct. The acrylic material seems applied with determination onto the paper. A bright orange outline emphasizes certain edges. This warm shade creates an immediate visual tension. It separates the blue from the black. The balance rests on this play of primary and saturated colors. The whole evokes an abstract architectural plan or an imaginary map. The composition plays on the solids and voids to guide the eye. This painting dates from 194. It testifies to a research into pure form and chromatic impact. The artist's signature appears in the bottom right.
