Description
An abstract composition that explores matter and gesture.
The artist deploys a raw energy through the use of acrylic on paper.
The eye is immediately captured by the dense impasto of the paint, creating a tactile and deep relief.
Nuances of black and gray intertwine in a circular and jerky movement.
The contrast between opaque shadow areas and brighter flashes suggests a volume in motion.
The gesture is free, almost instinctive, revealing the traces of the brush or knife passage.
The neutral background of the paper support frames this dark mass and accentuates the visual force of the structure.
The balance is played between the saturation of the center and the lightness of the edges.
This work, dated 193, testifies to a research on density and chromatic superposition.
The whole forms a compact mass with irregular contours, evoking a crumpled object.
