Description
The darkness saturates the space. The gaze plunges into a deep and dense black.
This abstract composition rests on meticulous work of the material. Chalk imposes itself on the paper to create a textured surface.
The gesture is precise. It sculpts the void. Subtle nuances emerge from the dark background.
Friction and hatching reveal a subtle relief. The light seems imprisoned in the canvas.
The visual balance plays on the tension between the full and the nothingness. The technical rigor structures this absence of form.
This work from 1994 explores the limit of the visible. The final rendering evokes infinite depth.
The work presents itself as a drawing made with chalk on paper.
